Nora A. Kreitzer, 97, of Cresco, Iowa, died Thursday, November 1, 2007, at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco, IA, from complications of advanced age. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, with burial in Church Cemetery, in Protivin, IA. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Conway Funeral Home IN PROTIVIN and an hour prior to services on Monday. There will be a 5:00 P.M Scripture Service on Sunday. Nora Ann Kreitzer was born July 25, 1910, near Protivin, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Hubka) Svestka. She attended the rural school near her home and as young girls did, she stayed home and helped her mother with the household chores. On September 9, 1930, Nora was united in marriage to Leonard C. Kreitzer at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA. They made their home on the farm that Leonard was born on in Lincoln Township, near Ridgeway until they moved into Cresco in 1987. Nora enjoyed playing cards whenever given the opportunity and was well informed about current events. Her television was usually tuned to CNN Headline News. She had a good sharp mind until her last stroke. Nora enjoyed baking, especially kolaches and rosettes. She enjoyed attending community events, visiting and was especially fond of her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: Ron (Marie) Kreitzer and Wayne (Janet) Kreitzer all of Cresco, IA; one daughter: Colleen (Larry) Thomas of Dunkerton, IA; 6 grandchildren: Dale (Jean) Kreitzer, Keith (Brenda) Kreitzer, Scott Kreitzer, Krissy Kreitzer, Heather (Jeremy) Burke, and Trent (Amanda) Thomas; 5 great grandchildren: Jennifer, Laura, and Ryan Kreitzer; David Kreitzer; and Molly Thomas; and one sister: Ann Mikota of Calmar, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard on March 3, 1994; one granddaughter: Julie Kreitzer; two brothers: Edward and William Svestka; and two sisters: Adella Chihak and Lillian Mikota. |
