Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Notre Dame Church in Cresco, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Cresco, IA. Visitation will be held at the Conway Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. There will be a 7:00 p.m. scripture service on Wednesday.
Ronald E. Hron died on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Regional Health Services Hospital in Cresco, IA, after a long illness. He was 59 years of age. Ronald Edward Hron was born, May 31, 1948 in Howard County, near Cresco, Iowa, the son of and Edward and Irene M. (Soukup) Hron. He attended the rural school near his home and also attended school in Cresco. Following his education, he started working on the family farm and also helping other neighboring farmers. On, February 24, 1968 he was united in marriage to Arlene Pecinovsky in the Holy Trinity Church at Protivin, IA. They were blessed with three children, Jeff, Douglas and Rhonda. On November 22, 1966, Ron started working at Donaldson’s and remained there until his health failed. Ron was easy going, but enjoyed practical jokes with his co-workers with whom he liked to socialize. He enjoyed the outdoors, tinkering with cars and trucks, and loved tractors. Ron was a good listener, enjoyed collecting things, his pet Brownie, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife: Arlene of Cresco, one daughter: Rhonda (Maynard) Thompson of Cresco, IA; two sons, Jeff (Julie) Hron of Grimes, IA and Douglas (Kathy) Hron of Polk City, IA ; four grandchildren: Carly Hron, Bryer, Trystin and Brayden Thompson; one brother: Frank (Jan) Hron of Decorah, IA. His parents preceded him in death parents.
